No, I went out on I went out on Sunday for a while. Um, did some ride share, but uh everything was pretty copacetic, nothing, no wild stories or anything.

So that's good. Uh really, I can't remember what I've done. I haven't done a ton. I've been doing uh last week was a lot of baseball. I had a lot of shit going on. I've done one, I've done two hours of gig work this whole week, and that that'll be it. I did what was it yesterday? I had a meeting at 10, going out at 11, was done by 1130, ended up getting like a shopping order for $46, and then did one door dash and then went home. I just uh just a lot of other shit going on. But um, one thing I did want to bring up is uh I had recently been doing Amazon routes. If you're in the telegram group, you've heard me bitch about them and how long they can be. And over time, you know, early on in the Amazon Flex era, you were able to request like, hey, this took too long, or this was long mile, and they would pay you, and they'd pay you five dollars. Um, and this one they did pay me five dollars, but what is happening on these is I'm getting them automatically, so I'm not complaining about it. They're seeing how far I'm driving, I guess, and then I've gotten two of them, so not every single time, but enough to where like they've obviously seen it and said, Well, that's too long. Now, does five dollars really cover it? No, it doesn't really cover it. I mean, a gallon of gas, I think it jumped to four and a quarter uh right now, uh around here, but um, it's still nice, I guess. I mean, I mean, for me, my charging only costs seven dollars a night, so that almost pays for my whole charging that extra five. Um, oh, it made me remember something. I did uh, as you know, when I do those long routes, I throw Amazon, fucker. I throw Lyft and Uber on. I did get a Lyft ride down in Kalamazoo that brought me to Grand Rapids. It paid $56. Um, and so that was freaking sweet. Like I did I had to drive a little like away from where I would normally go north, but maybe five miles, so five miles away and five miles back. But it was um I was paid for that time, obviously. But yeah, I have $56, so I did a hundred and twenty-two dollar route, then another fifty-six bucks. So I you know you can't go wrong there.

This isn't really super exciting. Um understanding. But anyway, we we all know uh over the past year Uber has been sued a lot, and uh they're starting to lose. And so you know they're trying to find ways to fight back. And so uh one of the ways they they've done that is um the terms of service for customers and drivers. Uh, I'm sure you know none of us read those anymore. They're so long, and you just want to work, so you just click okay. Yeah, but anyway, they put in there for the customers and the drivers that anyone who sues the company has to disclose uh uh details of any lawsuits that are funded by outside investors, uh, I guess and and not themselves.

What does that mean? You like an investor thing.

I I I don't understand what the outside investor, and I read through the whole story trying to make sense of it. Um and I haven't haven't found any good explanation for it. But anyway, you know, the the analysis of it is this this requirement, which uh is gonna make it harder for for customers and employees to find I guess um people with incentive to to sue the company. If Uber's doing it, you know it's a way they're trying to protect themselves. And and the you know, the wording for it says that if parties sue Uber, they must disclose any litigation funder who financially backs the lawsuit. They also must provide Uber with copies of the funding agreements and the requirement applies to any appointed arbitrator. Um so uh uh you know, a lawyer that they talked to at a labor law firm said that this is just an attempt to slow down any claims being filed and and you know coming to trial. Uber sending a very strong message, uh you know, trying to make it as hard as possible for anyone to go forward with their claims. So yeah, I'm trying to find, but I'm trying to, yeah. I I did uh try to research this a little bit and and figure out what exactly that you know lawsuits funded by investors. I I'm not sure what that means.

I mean, unless it's something like a competitor of Uber, like is invest I I but I didn't even know how you would invest. Like, do you do are you investing and paying for the attorney for it?

Like I mean the only thing I found is uh uh that there there are like hedge funds companies and things like that, or specialized investment firms that will invest in in like class action lawsuits, they'll front the money for the attorney, yes. Uh okay and you know, and they will get a return on that. So if th that's the case, then you know it has to be all disclosed, I guess.

Which makes sense, right? Because Uber's uh Uber's an easy, uh not an easy one to sue, but like they have a lot of like liabilities, maybe is that what I'm trying to say? Where that yeah, they're a lot of exposure. Exposure. There you go. Um, so yeah, it's probably like, well, they Uber did this. Oh, you yeah, you didn't get you taken, you know, you didn't they didn't pick up your dog as a service dog. I mean, that one is like you could probably do that every day.

I mean, so I guess I don't blame Uber, but like, yeah, of course it is, it's gonna slow things down. Not that that should really change anything. If if someone invested in it, like who gives a shit? If if it's still against the rules or it's violating a you know an ADA or something, uh yeah, it shouldn't matter. It shouldn't matter who's going for it or whatever. I agree 100%. Although it does kind of look bad when you're like going to sue somebody and you have an investor from like Elon Musk, he's investing suing Uber or something like that. Yeah, talk about deep pockets. Yeah, so just a little squirrel moment. I watched a TikTok today. Do you know that he launched some sort of financial thing recently where you can um give them money? It's like you get a six percent return. It's like a basically a savings account. It it's like X money, it's called, or something like that. But it's all through the the platform. Um, and he's gonna do crypto and stuff like that too.

Yeah, I know I knew he was getting into it. I haven't read a lot about it, but I I didn't hear that he was getting into that. Uh because you know, I mean, he's got so much idle time, he needs something to do.

Yeah, and and six percent, I mean, it's good, but I mean there's high high yield savings accounts that are seven or eight percent right now, but it's just interesting how he's trying to take that platform and make it like a whole ecosystem, which I guess everything we talk about. Uber's doing it, Facebook's doing it. Sure, everyone wants to keep you on the platform and keep money in there, but I don't know how comfortable I would be like sending Elon Musk a hundred bucks. I mean, I guess I do it for uh stash. And did you end up another side note? Did you go to Acorns or did you stay with Stash? Nah, I did I did the six. I kind of wish I would have because Acor, I I I started with Acorns. I went to the 12, uh, $12 a month. And Acorns is a little bit different than Stash. We'll talk on the Patreon about that. But um, I don't know, it's a little maybe because I'm not used to it, it's a little clunkier than I would have liked. But, anyways, sure. It had like three and a half million likes on it, and it's very short, but she's driving home, and the hashtag is like uh or the net the title is the type of ubers I only get when I'm violently hung over. All right. So we talked about this on the Patreon last week, and I wanted to bring it up again. And I I just I thought it was like from the onion, but it it really isn't. And is renting dogs by the hour helpful, a helpful service or taking the gig economy too far? So there's a new app in China, of course, China, but don't they eat dogs? I think. Uh, the app called Wang Fu allows people to rent dogs by the hour, giving users the chance to spend time with a pet without making a long-term commitment of owning one. Supporters say the service can provide dogs with more social interaction while giving owners an opportunity to earn extra income. Obviously, there's some people that are critical. You know, should you really be renting out a family pet to strangers creates unnecessary risk, safety, anxiety, blah, blah, blah. But uh, I guess they're trying to do it. And and Larry and I talked on the Patreon, it's like, God dang, would you ever rent? Like, I I have three dogs, and two of them are complete dicks. And the other one is great. Um, the other one probably would have been fine, but the other, the other two, it's like they have a little bit of aggression, like um reactivity, you know, to other dogs and stuff. Do I really want to like rent my dog out to some person that doesn't know how to deal with the reactivity? Well, I know how to deal with it. I just pull their leases back and say, knock that knock that shit off. Um, quit being a dick. But um, yeah, I don't know. Would you would you rent your family dog out to somebody? No, I don't think.

Um you could pay for a dog walker that's taking care of it. Yeah, that is taking care of it because you can afford to have somebody walk your dog. And I and I have, you know, some people may not remember the story, but I did do, of course I did, right? I've done every fucking I can't remember if it was Wag or Rover, but I lost a dog. I don't even remember that story, but I we ended up finding it like 40 minutes later. Like I happen to be, I mean, I was panicked. My wife and kids were down there. We were all this was downtown. This was down by um, did you ever go to Vito's with us? Nope. The pizza place on Fulton? Nope. No, we talked about lots. Yeah, it was down in that area, and yeah, 40 it it slipped its leash, like it it took off after something, and I don't, or like pulled back, and you know, it kind of falls off. And I'm like, well, first of all, that's on the fucking owner. That clearly that collar was not on tight enough, right? But I was devastated, and yeah, I was walking around for like the fifth time, and all of a sudden out the steps comes the dog with a neighbor, it was only five doors down the whole time.

It is I mean, it's interesting. I mean, and and I'm not knocking anybody who sends a kid to daycare or hires a dog walker. We you know, we made a decision that you know um my wife stayed home and I work part-time from home, you know. So we we ended up not sending our kids to daycare, but that's certainly not a knock. That's that's that's just a choice.

Yeah, I can't imagine nowadays. Um, you know, even when I had kids younger, we sent them to daycare. Not every day. My wife worked three days a week, but like it was so goddamn expensive. Like, I felt like I was not making a ton of money, and like three-quarters of my check every week was just going to pay for daycare. And I we we talked about it a couple times. Like, should I just stay home and figure out this was way before gig work where you could do little side hustles here and there, but uh it is it's outrageously expensive. Yeah, and I can't imagine now in 2026, like it's I think that's why a lot of kids, a lot of young adults getting married aren't having kids because they're just it's so expensive.

It's always interesting when you go out with them and you because I usually will end up I'm the last one in, and so when we're eating in a big table, I get put at the end. You know, it doesn't it it varies who ends up being down there, and um we were talking about that today. I was about kids, and I was like, Yeah, I don't think my son and his wife are gonna kids have kids. She goes, Oh, that's a shame. That's so sad. I go, why? I was like, it's very expensive to have a kid, and and it ties you down. Well, oh yeah, but like you need to have a kid so you can have somebody love you back. And I'm like, Well, you don't you shouldn't have a kid just so that you can have a kid, you know what I mean? Like it was a weird don't put that pressure on the kid, right? It was a weird take to have a kid. You should have a kid because you want to, like, you want to bring a kid into the world. That's great. If you don't want to, that's great too. Like, it was just a old people are just I'm sure you and I are gonna be the same way, but oh yeah, and that's a different generation.

Well, traffic came to a stop at the busy intersection of sunset in Edgemont in East Hollywood due to a man vandalizing a Waymo. Take a look at this. Police say they arrived to find a shirtless man on top of a Waymo in the middle of the intersection. This is video posted to the Citizen app. The man was seen on the crushed windshield holding a bent windshield wiper while screaming at the sensor on the top of the Waymo. Traffic had to come to a full stop as the Waymo was stopped right in the middle of the street. It's still unclear if anyone was in the Waymo when that destruction started. Officers arrived on the scene and arrested that man for vandalism.

Although it's a motorized toy gun, it can cause injury and damage, and it can look very realistic, especially ones that have been painted over. Police say this poses a danger.

It's yet another self driving car mishap. Dude, our Waymo just drove into a firework. Rose Peterson and her fiance. We're in a Waymo on July 4th in San Francisco when the Robo taxi drove right over illegal fireworks in the middle of the street. Thankfully, the company says no one was hurt, but Rose says it left her questioning the car's safety. I can't see if that's it, but um and then someone uh the the original poster said so so real, is it norm because he posted it? Is it normal to send pictures in the car? And I'm like, I've never done that for once. Why would I what I why why would I need to send a picture in the car?

Well, now I I I'll I'd have uh I'll take pictures because DoorDash wants you to take picture of the receipt, and so I do that a lot. I I don't sometimes I forget to do it the counter and get back to my car and like oh I gotta take a picture of the receipt because it prompts me, and so I can see that happening.

So um there was one they opened the the second Cub location last week, and they're having a five-day grand opening where you could get their highest level wash for free, you know. And so I took my wife's car over there, um I don't know, Friday. And uh of course they're trying to sell you the subscription, right? And I'm like, yeah, I don't know. But he hands me the card and he's going all over it and he's like, Hey, you know, you sign up with us. It's uh and right now I pay 35 a month for uh their mid-level wash.

How do I get this? He's like, Well, don't don't tell anybody I told you, but just call this number, so cancel your subscription, come by tomorrow, sign up with the new one. And so that's what I did. And when I got there, I was still in the system though. So they tried to sign me up, and the girl's like, Oh, you're it's showing you're already a member. And I like, well, yeah, I was, but I canceled it yesterday. And she's like, Oh, it hadn't gone through the system. But that same guy was there too, and he walked over. And first they were telling me I might have to come back the next day, and uh, even though the promotion was over, like, I'll come back on Monday, we'll we'll put a note in the system that you still get, and I'm like, I don't know about that, you know. But finally he's he he got it done. He's like, No, I over I overwrote it and and you're good, man. You're good. And he gave me my receipt and everything. Damn, so you're getting the the highest level for 30 bucks, and it's you know, the it's supposedly it uh it's for life, you know. Okay.
