Welcome And A Health Check

SPEAKER_01

Hello, hello. Welcome to the Game Economy Podcast. Episode three hundred and four. Mr. Larry is off tonight. I think he's doing a I don't know what did he say, Gabe. Some sort of work project of routers, and I don't know. You remember?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe. I I don't recall.

SPEAKER_01

You don't recall? Yeah, something like that. He uh he is doing it wasn't work. It was or it was work related, it wasn't vacation related. So, anyways, thanks for joining, Gabe. Coming to uh step up and give your two cents about all the good stuff going on in the gig economy. Uh belated happy birthday a couple days ago. Uh we in the 40s yet, probably. Yeah, 42. 42. Shit. Yeah. 42. Do you feel it? Oh, I was gonna say, do you feel it? Like, do you feel like what is what is when you say you feel 42, what is the thing you're feeling?

SPEAKER_00

Well, what was it? Two weeks before my birthday, I got a blood clot.

SPEAKER_01

That's right.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm rocking a compression sock on one leg.

SPEAKER_01

Sexy as always.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And um my leg hurts, my joints hurt, like I'm I'm feeling it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I think a lot of it's just all the health stuff. Like I think I partied so hard and lived so much in my like late teens, my twenties, early twenties, and I think it's all caught up with me now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And so now I like I feel it. Like, you know, somebody's like, you're only as old as you feel, and I'm like, Well shit, I'm 42. I'm like, he's like, you know, my cousin's like, you're 24, and I'm like, no, bitch, I feel like I'm 84, like double it.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

That's how I feel.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um, yeah, well, I I was saying for the health stuff though, like you could be 24 and have this stuff and you'd still feel like shit. So don't, don't, you know, I I don't think that's an old age. I I mean, it can be, I guess, but I I I definitely don't think it's uh 42 and the health stuff. I don't think I don't I guess I don't think it correlates. I think you know, if you're you're 42 and you're getting up out of bed and you're like, oh fuck, that's a little tight. That's that's that's the getting old.

Night Driving Limits And Window Tint

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So uh hey Bubasue, thanks for joining. Um okay, stories from the road. I went out specifically for ride share again. I know what is wrong, and I've realized as it's getting late at night, I cannot fucking see out of my car for one. Like it's too GD dark, and I I don't know. I think I might, I mean, it's not horribly expensive, right? I think I paid $200 for my tent. Have them rip off at least the fronts, although I want it to match. I don't know, it's kind of OCD thing, but I know a lot of people have it darker in the back and then a little bit lighter on the front, but it's too freaking hard to see. But um, so I went out, it was good. I don't know. I think I told I think I made 180 in five and a half hours and was home before it was dark. Uh well, almost dark, dark, you know, it was starting to get dark. So uh did all ride share. Uh no, I take that back. I did have one $18 Uber double Uber Eats that I took from downtown. Um, but it was good. It was good. Um, one thing that I did notice, and Gabe talked me through it, but it was a little late. The reservation thing, I got a little excited about the price, and I was trying to look at the time, but I couldn't find they pressure you right to accept it, and you gotta and I felt pressure to accept it. Like I felt like the algorithm really kind of made me take that without really investigating what it was because you you had said on the reservations you can see the time for the pickup before you accept it, correct?

SPEAKER_00

No, you can't so it pops up like the placard, like a regular ride, but it says reservation. Uh you click that you've accepted it on the bottom where usually you hit start, there will be something that says I'm trying to think what it says. Because there's two if they have preferences, that tab will pop up too.

SPEAKER_01

I did see that.

SPEAKER_00

And then, but before you get to that, I think it says like information or details or something. It says something else. You click

Uber Reservations Pressure And Hidden Details

SPEAKER_00

that and it will tell you, you know, the pickup time. Like ride is at like today I had one, it popped up and it said ride was at 145, and I looked and I was like, Well shit, it's in five minutes. I'm I'm nine minutes away. Yeah. Um so it it does tell you on there. Like yesterday I had one. System popped it up, and I started heading, and he I had to go back and click on it, and I was like, Oh shit, this isn't for 40 minutes. I'm not sitting there for 40 minutes.

SPEAKER_02

Fuck no.

SPEAKER_00

So then I just cancel and put not worth not worth the pay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Because it's not worth the pay. Like if I was picking up the ride and taking it, yeah, definitely. But then by the time I figure, you know, running to the airport and I'm gonna sit there and wait for 40 minutes, no.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and the pay is usually a little better, but the problem is is if you don't know where to look for that, you're driving, right? So it's like, fuck, how much you should be tapping in here, which brings up uh one other point. I noticed Lyft, they restrict your taps. If you're trying to find something, it locks that phone up, which I do like. I'm not gonna lie, it you know, I have to basically have handcuffs to keep my hand off the phone when I'm doing gig work, of course. Obviously, when I'm driving, I don't really fuck with it, but um, yeah, it was just I guess I didn't see it, and I ended up waiting like 20 minutes, and then I swear to god, it didn't say it was gonna be that many miles, and then it ended up being like 21 miles. Fucking it, it was from Byron Center downtown Ada.

SPEAKER_00

So well, here's my question when it pops up, I don't know if you have it connected to your like car play.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, no, no, no, I don't, I don't, I don't have Uber connected to the car play because it doesn't give me another information.

SPEAKER_00

That's one thing that right, it'll it puts the miles, but what it shows you on the miles is the miles from you to them. It does not show you what the phone shows you, okay, where it shows the miles to them and the miles to where you're dropping them off.

SPEAKER_02

Gotcha.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah so they give you so when you see it, you're like, Oh, cool, I'm in this Uber Eats for like four miles, and then you're like, Oh shit, they didn't send it to the McDonald's, it's close to me. They sent it to this one that's four miles away, and I still got to drive it way over here, right? So that's something too. Like, if you use CarPlay, I've noticed you have to double check the phone and that you can't just go off car play.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I did I did notice that I may have just screwed up, which is entirely possible, but yeah, I that's why I disconnected the car play because I didn't it gives you no information whatsoever, encourages you to to connect it. And I was like, nah, that's no thanks. Now with DoorDash, you they give you everything, right? So that when you see the mileage, that's from you to the store and from the store to um the customer. Yeah, I do like that. Um, so that's good. Um, and then the other thing, I actually got the same uh passenger twice, and and that's crazy. I mean, think about it. Think about weird. I'm downtown Grand Rapids, the amphitheater has 12,000 people at it, and I ended up picking them up, and it was actually a different name, it was his name on the way back and hers on the way down. But what are the freaking odds of that? Like, that's a so many people, and together that's a weird coincidence. It is, it's so weird.

SPEAKER_00

But like I I was gonna say, if it was whoever requested it on the way down, I can see that happening because in theory, if you both rated good, right? You didn't rate low, in theory, if you are available and they request a ride, they will get the previous rider that they had.

SPEAKER_01

I would agree with that, and she tipped, so there was no re I mean, everything was great on the first ride down, so there would be no reason to not be repaired. But no, it was her husband or her boyfriend that had requested it uh still on lift. But I so crazy we could I can't remember if he tipped too. I'd have to go. It was I was gonna go back downtown, but it brought me um, I don't know if you remember Manelli's on Byron Center right near M6 in Metro Health. I picked him up there in the in the early evening and dropped him off there, and I'm like, I'm four miles from my house, I'm just gonna go home.

SPEAKER_00

So it's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was crazy. It was a good ride. Uh, anything else for you? Any stories? Uh I know you had Monday off, so but you've only got a couple of days in this week.

Repeat Riders And Remembering Faces

SPEAKER_00

Um, I had a I had a passenger. It's funny because like I get a lot of people that I've given rides to, you know, but I also give shit 120 to 150 rides a week.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

But like uh and I drive the same time every day almost. So the likelihood of me getting the same person is high. And I I got this guy I gave a ride to two weeks ago, and I said, Hey, I gave you a ride, your car had gotten towed, and he he was blown away that I remembered him and I remembered what had happened, and he just sat there and he was like, How do you have like a photogenic memory? I said, you know what? I go, I'm ADHD. I said, You can ask me something that happened earlier, and I cannot even remember or tell you um anything about it, but for some reason, something with passengers, and either if we talk, I can, or if I remember something that they said or where I dropped, I just I put them together and I can recall. And he just he was amazed and he was like, That's really nice. And I go, Yeah, it makes you feel special, right? Like you're just not another number. And he goes, Yeah, he goes, I've never had a driver that remembered me.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And you know, it's to me that like brought back on like what I enjoy about it, right? I enjoy the people interaction, right? I do. Um, and so it was nice, it was a nice way to end my it was my last ride for the day.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, you're you're so right about ADHD because yeah, you'll remember the most random shit, like he got his car towed, you know, you or something about his face, yeah, that triggered it. And but yeah, you can't remember if you brush your teeth this morning or not. You're like, fuck, did I remember?

SPEAKER_00

Did I I pull out the driveway and go down the street, and I'm like, fuck, did I shut the garage door? And I turn around like this happens four times a week, you know, to go back to make sure that I shut the garage door. But I can remember a guy I gave a ride to probably 250 rides ago.

SPEAKER_01

That's crazy. That's that's crazy.

Colorado Safety Law For Uber Lyft

SPEAKER_01

All right, uh, gig economy in the news. Uh, this was, you know, I try to put the the the most interesting one um first, and Colorado has been doing some things about um security or things like that with uh Uber and Lyft, and they passed a law, which this is crazy, though. It's uh the governor signed it, a new law designed to increase protections for passengers and drivers. The law requires companies like Uber and Lyft to ensure that both drivers and passengers can opt into audio and video recording during rides. Uh, which is I so passengers can't, right? This is only like they can, okay. So it just makes, but it just I guess the law when it says the law requires them, it means that they can't, right? But I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe on I don't know if I have it pop up sometimes where it'll say this writer can record. Okay, like it gives you a warning, right?

SPEAKER_01

I've seen that before too, but I didn't it just make I guess the way it's written, it sounds like people can't do that or whatever, but um, it also mandates this is the the interesting part, it also mandates criminal background checks for drivers at least once every six months and expands the list of criminal convictions that disqualify someone for driving, regardless of how long ago the offense occurred. So, I mean, I I would have thought that a felony regardless of time would exclude you regardless, but apparently, if it's over like seven years, they don't look for that. But um, it also said the companies must provide regular safety training for drivers and passengers and develop policies to prevent sexual and physical assaults during the rides. And they must share detailed incident data every year with the state officials and lawmakers. So that's a lot. What do you think about all that?

SPEAKER_00

Fortunately, I I feel that I like the tightening up of the background checks. I I think it's it's nothing that we pay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But I I think it's good, but I also like I I do feel like there should be more tightening up with the writers as far as you know the name thing. You know, we're supposed to report that now. Um, but just you know how many people have probably had their account deactivated because they should have, and but then you know, they just sign up or use somebody else's.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I agree. The one thing I don't like about it is mandatory training. Now it makes me feel like an employee, and am I gonna get paid for this? Because, like, if if if there's training at where I work, if I'm not getting paid for it, I'm not doing it, you know. I mean, I mean, I take that back. There once every four years or something, we have to do district-wide training, like bloodborne pathages and shit. That is it is part of our employment, so we didn't get paid for that, but which was fine, it was all online. But I guess my point is is like you're making us do this training, but I don't have a problem with sexual assault. And like I, you know, I'm a fine driver. Why should I be forced to do this? Why not force the people that have the issue? I don't know. I don't know. It just kind of bothers me.

SPEAKER_00

But I I guess like when you look at some of the other ones, though, like Spark, right? You had to do an alcohol one.

SPEAKER_02

True.

SPEAKER_00

Training, or you know, Instacart, god, I don't know, eight. I think there's eight different things you go through real quick for training, or you know, some of the uh catering, you know, you have to watch the video while you're signing up. So I think if it's part of the sign up process, it's no different than some of the other platforms that are out there.

SPEAKER_01

I can see that, but the alcohol one I do because I'm gonna make money off from it. You know, I wouldn't if I didn't, you know, if I made no money off the alcohol training, I wouldn't do it. Like there would be no point of me doing it. Same for when I work at the ballpark. I did that, I had to do this training because I'm gonna make money on it. But I agree. I think I think it's fine if it's initial, like when you sign on to the platform, like, hey, you have to take these three. I'm fine with that, but at the regular, I don't know if it's gonna they're gonna make them do it regular, like once a year or something like that. Um, and I don't mind just a quick email or a notification, hey, just a reminder, you know, like for the the pet, the animals or whatever, like that's fine. I don't care about that. But if I have to sit through a video thing, you know, it's just kind of annoying. But I do love I do love that this is happening. I'd be curious to know what Steve thinks about it because this is in his state. I mean, I mean, sure, he's gonna talk about it, but yeah, one of the things that said in the article that Uber and Lyft both maintain their platform platforms are really safe with more than 99.9% of trips occurring without any incident. But the statistics also said that from 2017 to 2022, every eight minutes there was a report of a sexual assault or sexual misconduct. So, and that's reported. Imagine the ones that didn't get reported. I mean, you think about it. You if some gal hits on you or whatever, that technically is unwanted sexual advance. Like, obviously, I'm not gonna report it because you know it's like I'll take it as a compliment. I mean, obviously, if it escalates and gets a little weird, it's different, but yeah, that didn't get reported. But I I mean it'd probably be every 10 seconds instead of every eight minutes if everything got reported that actually went down. So yeah, it's something to think about. I think it's a good thing. Uh, we'll see what happens as it moves through you know the rest of the states. But yeah, Colorado's kicking in the door and and taking names with that stuff. So hopefully it it brings positive change for the well be interesting to see how many other states jump on it. Well, it only takes one, right? Just like you know, Massachusetts, we talked last week, they have a union now. Again, I don't know a lot of the details. You know, I I poll news for the show, but I don't have two hours to dig into it. Um, so I'm curious to see how that pans out. I don't think it's gonna be great, but a little protection. If it gives me a little extra protection, I'm happy with it. Uh

Uber Lost And Found Gets Weird

SPEAKER_01

okay. So Larry and I talked about this earlier uh a couple months ago, maybe, and it ended up being an old list, but they finally put out the 10th uh 10th annual Uber Lost and Found. And I'm telling you, if you read they went into detail with this, we could spend 40 minutes just on this article about like the most uh forgetful cities, the lost and found trends, the most forgetful days. I mean it goes i so it goes on and on. So I'm gonna do the top 50, uh, and we'll just you know, if something stands out to you, let me know. So uh dentures with two teeth, breast milk, human hair, which whatever, unless it was like when I donated my hair and it's like in a ziploc bag or something, that would be a little weird. A Donnie Osman group picture, okay, an ankle monitor, okay, 420 donuts, George Washington hospital discharge papers. Maybe the guy that maybe you got you there's got to be somebody out there named George Washington, right? Washington is a common name, and and so is George. Uh, sack of marbles, oxygen tank, gold mouth grills, brand new mini fridge. Okay, I don't know what this is, one red bottom Louis Vuitton.

SPEAKER_00

Louis Vuitton, heel.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, is that how is that Louis Vuitton? That's how it's spelled out. Oh, that's interesting. Yeah, a heel, an electric harness, live fish, a mannequin, two trees. What the fuck? Cape of the state, cape with the Statue of Liberty on it, $200 worth of Timu items, grass, a textured photo with a rhinestone picture of Jesus. Was it Trump? A 75 gallon fish tank, pool stick in a case, fish loin for my restaurant, two chrome exhaust tips, portable thermo thermal printer, a bald cap, a dishwasher, what the hell?

SPEAKER_00

How do you some of these I'm like a 75 pound tank, a dishwasher, like well the 75 gallon tank isn't that big, is it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Is it pretty big?

SPEAKER_00

I mean about 75 gallons of milk poured into something.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, I guess it is. Um a respirator, a respirator.

SPEAKER_00

Respirator.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you, and a hard hat for work, a wizard wand, a welding helmet, two pounds of blue raspberry gushers, a shower pole, pair of partial teeth and a tissue, nasty, a toboggan, a police radio, a coffee table, I don't know what that is, some merch from some artist, handcuffs, two wedding gowns, pelvis implants, twenty pounds of duck sausage, package of live butterflies, a propane tank, a double door oven, hunting waiters, a child's prot prosthetic eye, a black stethoscope, a meat slicer, a kitchen faucet, and a sleep apnea machine. So the police radio, that's crazy. Do you think it was like an office duty cop or something?

SPEAKER_00

Just these big, big items. I get it though. Like I get it because I had people like put their groceries in the back and they get out and they're like, have a good night. And I'm like, and then they hear the beep beep and they're like, Oh, I almost forgot.

SPEAKER_01

Like well, because they get you you're talking with them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And they forget.

SPEAKER_00

I can see, but like a toboggan.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, bro, I feel like alcohol has to do a lot of these, you know what I mean? And they just like totally forget about it. The most 10. So I'm gonna list out the 10 most unique items over the last 10 years starting from 2017 a lobster, divorce papers, a salmon head, a lanyard that says virginity rocks. A large painting of Kate Middleton, 50 500 grams of caviar, my dog is in the car, a toy poodle, I don't know, a fake butt, a taxidermy rabbit, and then this year was the 75 gallon fish tank. I mean, it's gotta be true, right? You I mean, I guess they could be making it up, but I don't know. It just seems wild, some of the stuff. Uh the brand new mini fridge. You buy a brand new mini fridge and you get out of the, you know, obviously a lot of these gotta be in Uber XLs. Right. You're not putting that in my car. A 75 gallon fish tank's not gonna fit in my car. It's gonna have to be an SUV.

SPEAKER_00

Like a toy poodle. Like who leaves their dog in the car?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Well, a bald cap. Like, what does that mean? Like a cap that makes you look bald? Is that is that what I'm thinking?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um like was it a bald cap or was it like somebody who was a swimmer and it was That's what I was thinking too, but then I think that I didn't say it because I'm like, that's dumb. But uh there also was a pelvis implants in there. Pelvis implants.

SPEAKER_00

Pelvis implant.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah, I gotta look that up because I don't even know what that is. Let me wear uh pelvis implant. I gotta look that up because yeah, I was thinking that myself. I wanted to get through the list, but then I'm like, what the fuck?

SPEAKER_00

Like we we've seen some crazy like when Ben drove and they but he had a bachelorette party and they left a big old penis in the backseat. Like those are things.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, how come those aren't listed in here? You're telling me it you you didn't have like a bucket of dildos at the end of the year from you know from all the things that got left. Like that's a really good point.

SPEAKER_00

Like I've had keys, like I've never had anything this interesting. I've had keys, I've had phones, um, headphones, I've got a pair of earpods. Like I emailed the guy, he never responded back.

SPEAKER_01

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

I have a camera, um, like the old like the film cameras.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I looked it up because I was like, why hasn't she said anything? And it's like $20 camera. Um like she could just go buy one, I guess, but why would you spend the 20, whatever? But like, yeah, like your basic general things. Yeah, they said ever had crazy stuff.

SPEAKER_01

They said the top you listed about seven of them, the ten most commonly forget items: phone, wallet, luggage keys, headphones, clothing, passport, glasses, jewelry, and laptop. So um, but then they got like they broke it down to lost items that peak on certain days, IDs and wallets on Mondays, headphones on Tuesdays, chargers on Wednesdays. Like they really dialed in on this. So um, somebody had a lot of time on their hands.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like a golf putter. Which one do you socks, like the 10 sports and fitness?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Stadium seats.

SPEAKER_01

Well, those are that that would be common because it's like you sitting on it, you know you know what I mean? Like you go to a game or whatever. Um, so those aren't that big of a deal. A cornhole set?

SPEAKER_00

Cornhole set?

SPEAKER_01

That's a big deal. Fishing rods, fuck you. You're not gonna leave those, but clearly. A diesel cap. Why is this under 10 top 15 luxury items? A diesel cap with a big metal diesel logo on it? That's a luxury item.

SPEAKER_00

Probably because they're expensive.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, maybe. Interesting. Top 15 toys, care bear, DSI. I don't know what that is. Pokemon, a scooter. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I like a small hello kitty pouch that says J Boogie on it.

SPEAKER_01

I just read that. You you beat it, you beat me to it. That's hilarious. Well, yeah, you you can check out the list for the

DoorDash Hiring A Viral X Voice

SPEAKER_01

rest of it. So, okay, so there is a new trend going around with this, it isn't really like gig related, but um, if you're obsessed with internet culture, you could make 200k working for DoorDash. Uh, they're hiring a very specific kind of communication professional, and it's not like you know, the I just run social media kind of stuff. It's not a traditional executive communications role, not for branding or anything. It said the person will run a real-time posting on X for DoorDash executives, they will jump into viral conversations, amplify product news, and shape the company's voice.

unknown

What the hell was that?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, somebody sorry, it was a loud card. Shape the company's voice for the terminally online, in quotes, which is a sad thing. So, yeah, this is kind of uh happening through a lot of companies, and we all know about the Wendy's guy, right? Or the Wendy's person that does it that just will torch your ass on social media. It they they don't give a shit.

SPEAKER_00

I love it, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And everyone knows it, right? Because they they hold they do not care, they will torch McDonald's, Burger King. If your old grandma says something shitty on there, they're gonna torch you. They're gonna they're gonna look at your profile picture and call you fat. I mean, I mean, I don't know if they would do that, but um, so my guess is this is what it's gonna be because can you imagine the Twitter traffic for for the for uh hashtag DoorDash? Like the shitty orders people get and deliver and then the trashy delivery drivers and they can't do anything, but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

If I could burn if I could pay get paid to burn people, I mean get paid like a hundred and like what did they say? 130 36 to 200, 136 to 200,000 just to sit there and be a dick to people.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, yeah, they're not gonna say that in the article, but like they they them saying they will jump into viral conversations, that's what that means. But yeah, I mean that it's I guess it's happening. They're talking about companies like OpenAI, Netflix, Googling are offering high six figure salaries for for that that kind of role, you know what I mean? And that's the seven, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Netflix up 1.2 up to 1.2 million.

SPEAKER_01

Jesus. But that seems weird though. Senior director, he's not gonna be the one torching people, but that's what people want. People are tired of the and and I am too. Like when you call customer service and it's overly like, How are you? Thank you so much. I'm like, just get to the me. I'm I would rather be quicker. Like, let's get rid of the formality, is like, hey, this is so so. How can I help you today? Like, or when they say, Can I put you on hold for a brief minute? Do I have a fucking choice? Just say, I'm gonna put you on hold and go. Like, I don't know, that kind of stuff kind of annoys me. It's it's similar to this, but like I do like that they're trying to take a little bit more of like a real life approach to talking about their company and maybe their customer service. I don't know. They need to fucking do that when you're talking to DoorDash chat. Although half the time I don't know if it's AI or real person.

SPEAKER_00

I know it's I think a lot of them have moved to AI, although, yeah, except for Uber, like you know, they're they spent so much money on AI, they're hurting now a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, they got a pullback. Yeah, there was an article about that. I didn't I didn't put it in here, but yeah, I I read there something there. So there you go. If you want to torch somebody for 200k, apply. I don't think either of us will get it, so but it is interesting that it's happened. I I I kind of got off X, it kind of got real body, and it just I mean I met Steve from Right Your Rodeo. I used to love well, it was Twitter back then, but yeah, it's kind of changed a little bit, but I would get on just to see what's going on with uh with that DoorDash guy.

SPEAKER_00

So can you imagine though how many people you could burn and be like, well, Karen, if you tipped that you might make your food still warm?

SPEAKER_01

My god, if they do that, I will lose it. Like, I oh man, that would be good. I mean, you're gonna piss a lot of people off by that statement, but also people are gonna be like, yeah, but I don't know if they would do that though, because that's for the drivers and they hate us. So like that would benefit us, and I don't know if they want to do that, even though they say they love us and they can't do it without us. But fuck

Patreon Plug Plus A No Tip Note

SPEAKER_01

them. All right, go to patreon.com slash oops, fuck me. I forgot I gotta do why did it do that? Oh, hang on, I got a new there we go. Patreon.com slash the giggy con podcast, uh 807 tonight. We will have one uh extra podcast a week, exclusive t-shirt, uh pre-ramble that I did myself today because Gabe showed up one minute early. And um, what else? Oh, you get a Patreon bonus. No, I already said that. What else? What did I forget? Oh, ad-free episodes. So you don't get this ad. I actually cut it out and cut a or give you an episode without all the ads. So uh starts at three dollars a month. We'd love for it to have you join. It helps uh helps the show out very much. So okay, so we got a lot of pictures uh coming up, and so this is a so this goddamn it. This motherfucker uh no, this one isn't it. I'm so sorry. Oh no, I did. This one is it. Um, so this is a DoorDash note, leave at my door. I'm a disabled veteran on the HUDVAC homeless program who receives income below the poverty level guidelines and apologize if I don't tip all the time due to my income. You can ask a tax professional if you can potentially write off the tip on your taxes somehow. Please leave my order at the front porch. So basically, what he's saying, what if you're why would you write it off? Like, mean like not getting a tip, you could write it off. Like, is that what he's saying?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe I don't know. I've never come across something like this. I don't even know how I would respond.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, obviously, this is in his notes that he keeps on there all the time, right? Like, this is just what he does. But yeah, I I don't think I would respond to it. Yeah, that that is strange. I don't know what you can ask a tax professional if you can potentially write off the tip on your taxes somehow. But if you're not getting a tip, are you s that's what I'm saying? I think he thinks, well, I'm not no, I don't even know. I'm I'm not even gonna try to try I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like there's two different conversations there.

SPEAKER_01

That's actually a good point. Maybe uh maybe it is, but um if you're uh okay, this is might be a little judgmental, but if you're on the homeless program who receives income below the poverty level guidelines, why are you using DoorDash? I mean you're getting little Caesars. I could see if it said Aldi or Kroger, okay. You're getting groceries, I'm fine with that, but you're getting fast food. I mean, maybe we shouldn't order on DoorDash if you can't tip. So um, that's my that is my normal man.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

That is uh my opinion on it.

Do Drivers Really Get Tips

SPEAKER_01

Um, so real quick, delivery drivers are saying, and I I don't know how much you run across this, are saying more or asking customers. Uh sorry, delivery drivers say more customers are asking, did you actually get my tip? Um and I and I got that even over the weekend from I think it was oh this is actually a little story from the road. I had a lift ride, a guy and a gal get in there, and then they're a little tipsy and they're like, Oh, they're going to my work, or I'm going to my work to punch out, and I'm like, punch out. He's like, Yeah, I'm on call. He worked at um, you know the the food place in Grand Rapids, is it Hearthside or Health? No, it smells great. It's over if if it's uh 36 like a factory, yeah, 36 and Schaefer. You can smell Heart Side or I think it's Heart Side Foods, but yeah, he worked there and he was on call. And but he's drinking, like he's not shit face, but he's clearly been boozing. And yeah, he was on call for 12 hours, so he they make him go punch in physically, like check in with somebody, and then I drove him because they they both were drinking, so I drove him back, he punched out, but anyways, I wasn't planning on telling that, but my I guess with this, she's like, You get all the tip, right? And I was like, What am I supposed to say though? I say yes, like what am I supposed to say? Well, I don't know. Let's compare notes at the end. I mean, I guess, but how have you dealt with that with people in the in the world there?

SPEAKER_00

I say I should.

SPEAKER_01

I should, okay.

SPEAKER_00

I should like I'm like, I should, it should all come to me. And then usually we both will laugh because it has because there has been talks, and we have seen these companies that don't pass on. Correct, or you know, and I think that there's been so much talk about it that people, even consumers, are like, hey, is that really happening?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, we just uh in the article they talked about the Walmart one, and I I know I think you got some money, I got some money, they just sent out a bunch more, like it literally does happen. Um, and and that stuff makes the news, which makes people say, Well, are you actually getting the tip? But I don't understand why companies like they're already a billion-dollar company. What what why fuck your drivers? Like, if you're if someone tips ten dollars and you scrape five off the top, for what though? Like, just to cover your costs, like because you're paying too much on like it's just it seems so bad to do that.

SPEAKER_00

It it seems bad because it is bad, but it I guess in that grand scheme of things, if you have let's say you have ten thousand people that use it a day and you take a little bit off, that accumulates too a lot, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's just so I mean it doesn't surprise me for Walmart because they don't treat their employees great, they're non-union, you know, but they make a billion dollars, like billions of dollars, and it just it kind of grosses me out that they try to do that stuff, and it's not just Walmart DoorDash has done it, Amazon Flex did it.

SPEAKER_00

I think they all like even Uber, like I don't know, because you don't give a lot of rides, but like every week I get a a summary, right? Of like what customers paid, what they paid to me, what they had to pay for fees, and they were negative three percent. Uber was negative three percent. And I'm like, every week you're telling me you're negative from the rides that I'm taking.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, that that that's not true.

SPEAKER_00

That's not I think they it, you know, they inflate, they they inflate, yeah. Like, you know, Bob Sue just said they get interest. Like, I don't understand why they do it.

SPEAKER_01

Speaking of in interest, do you know that Starbucks is the biggest bank in the world because of the money that so when you when you reload your Starbucks card, you have to put like $25 on it, I think something like that, or maybe that's what my wife tells me. Um but there's a lot they get so much money from people letting that that money sit in their account, and I think Venmo does the same thing. So, like when I get a Venmo or when I have Venmo money, I typically transfer it right out of there into my account just to stick it to the man because I don't want them to be like you know, gaining, but it makes sense, right? If they have everyone just leaves their money in their Venmo account or their Starbucks card or any any kind of stuff like that, because I don't think you can use that card like like you can't like I don't think link your debit card with it. You have to reload it, you can't just be like, you know what I mean. So I think that, but yeah, it's just it's disappointing that companies do that, and I don't know how you fight it eventually. I don't know. Maybe next time someone says that to me, I'm like, okay, let's compare. Are you gonna tip tonight? And they're like five bucks. I'm like, okay, if you want to stay around, I'll end the ride. And you know, it it comes up pretty quick. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you know, it's it's right there. So, but then uh if I have that information, if they if they did skim it, what do I do that? Do I reach out to a congressman? Do I I mean because you don't want to go to Uber because they're gonna tell you to fuck off, you know what I mean? What do you do with that information? Hire an attorney.

SPEAKER_00

I think you would have to you would have to do a big enough investigation where you're like, okay, for the last month I've kept track of.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you don't not just one, right? Right, yeah. Well, I mean, you drive enough, how you should try it. Just how many people? I mean, but you also want to just get on to the next ride, and it and it is a little awkward, but some people you'll end up having a good connection with, and they would be like, Fuck yeah, let's look.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and like, well, look at that ride that I gave the other morning.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that big ass tip, that was huge.

SPEAKER_00

It was like a $56 tip. The ride I got paid, what, $15?

SPEAKER_01

No, wasn't it like $30 something? Because you ended up ended up being like an $80 ride.

SPEAKER_00

I got paid fifteen dollars, I think it was for that ride. And the tip was more it came in two. That was the thing. It came in two separate transactions.

SPEAKER_01

I found it, yeah. It was $15.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it was a $15 ride. He maybe he paid $25, $30.

SPEAKER_01

Why did you think he tipped so much?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. He slept. He got in the car and he was like, Oh, your air feels so good, and he was out. He didn't wake up until I parked and was like, All right, we're here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was a 21-minute ride. So so was he like partying all night or something?

SPEAKER_00

And he was just I dropped him off at Salvation Army, man. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

What the fuck? Yeah, well, maybe it was on someone else. I mean, that's so Uber X priority. I I'm just looking at your um your what does that mean? That they ordered priority? Is that what that means?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they paid extra to uh because you can do priority to pay extra to get a driver faster, yeah, or the wait and save.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so he he he wanted to go. I don't know, maybe he his maybe his parole officer said he had to be back at a certain time at the Salvation Army or something. That's a really good tip. I'm surprised they were even able to tip that much. Usually they limited.

SPEAKER_00

You can they do, so you you have to do it, you can do it in two stages. Okay, you tip once, and then they can go back and tip again.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. Interesting. Well, yeah, I I know we got off topic there, but yeah, that was a fucking ball or trip on whatever that day. It was your first ride in the morning or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Less than 30 minutes and 71 dollars.

SPEAKER_01

You're just like fuck, I'm going for breakfast. Uh Bubba Sue says take a take a pick of passenger phone, then you have proof and can tell you, yeah. I mean, you have to have pictures, you can't not do it without pictures because just having the information, they're gonna tell you to get bent. So um, yeah.

DoorDash Personal Shopper Pilot Pay

SPEAKER_01

All right, moving on. Next up, this is a picture. Let's see if I um can not fuck it up. And uh Gabe, you can tell me if if you uh have this, earn an extra $25 on every personal shopper order because of your recent customer feedback. You've been customer feedback? Your cut your oh, okay. So they customers giving feedback about you as a shopper. You've been invited to participate in the personal shopper pilot. Every Friday and Saturday, you'll be able to set your availability for the following week so customers can book grocery orders with you directly for every completed personal shopper order. You'll earn an extra $25 reward on top of your regular earnings. Rewards are paid separately, blah, blah, blah. So they're giving, so it's like faith, it's like Instacart, kind of, if you're online. So you have to set up.

SPEAKER_00

I haven't put I'm gonna have to pull up DoorDash. It's been a while since I've pulled up DoorDash.

SPEAKER_01

Um well, just wait. You're gonna you're gonna see Larry and I try and do in DoorDash next Wednesday. We're gonna have to send him to Nashville.

SPEAKER_00

Well it it's confusing though. Um no, I have like a pro shopper peak pay.

SPEAKER_02

No, this is something different.

SPEAKER_00

It's interesting though, because look at it. It says earn an extra $25 on every personal shopper order.

SPEAKER_01

That's if they select you. So you could you so the the pilot program is every Friday through oh, every Friday and Sunday? That's weird. You set your availability and so the following week, so customers can book you directly. So I'm thinking it's ones that you've had before.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think but it says, but then if you read it, it says you'll earn an extra $25 reward on top of your regular earnings.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but that because I don't think they they they know that it's a pilot and it's gonna take some time to catch on. So they know you're not gonna get it's not gonna be like every one, it's gotta be one that had favored you or seize your name on there. I mean, I guess I get a couple.

SPEAKER_00

I've seen where was I at? Trying to think. Where I've been able I think here, when I've ordered, it asked me if I wanted to have them do future orders if they were available.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And I had to check something on DoorDash.

SPEAKER_01

Interesting. Maybe they're going to be able to do that.

SPEAKER_00

Would you like them to shop for you again or something?

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Yeah, Bubasu is a pilot program. Yeah, I know it's a pilot program.

SPEAKER_00

It said it in the So it maybe maybe it could be coming in the area because that was something that popped up. It says, Would you like for them to shop for you again or something?

SPEAKER_01

It's dumb for them not to do that because you know you see online the horror stories. You know, I see people, I'll never use DoorDash for groceries, blah, blah, blah. Like I think the customers would want that. And of course, they would probably charge the customer. Oh, if you want, if you want Gabe to shop for you, it's going to be an extra two dollars

Instacart Markups And Store Pushback

SPEAKER_01

or whatever it is.

SPEAKER_00

Here's the thing, right? I use in I shop in SCART orders. I do Uber Eats shopping. I do DoorDash shopping. Over the last year, I'm seeing more and more people doing grocery shopping on DoorDash and Uber Eats. Why do you think that is? Because of the markup pricing that Instacart charges. It is quite a it's insane.

SPEAKER_01

So Uber and DoorDash do not mark up any of the prices?

SPEAKER_00

Some of them they do. Um, but on a lot of them, they have special deals where they're like, if you buy these items, you get them on sale, you get sale prices.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, Walmart doesn't do that. Everything's as priced in the store as what it is on the app. I mean, makes sense, I guess. They're not really third party because it's Walmart food and Walmart drivers, but um, yeah, I know Instacart, it's a lot. If you compare to your receipt, like what it would cost without Instacart and with it, Sean on Facebook says, yeah, ship does the same shit. I mean, I don't mind a small markup, but it it's sizable. If you're ordering $200 of the groceries, I bet it's $270 on Instacart plus the tip.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's it's interesting because some of the store like there's a store here that is caught up on the markup that Instacart does, so they mark their prices up. So in the store, an item could cost $7.99, right? They scan it, it says $7.99. They scan the barcode for that we have them scan the Instacart wants us to. And that price, like they charge them an extra dollar fifty to two dollars more on some items.

SPEAKER_01

Really? The store did yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So Plums, Plums Market here, they they gouged the price to Instacart.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's not going to Instacart. Wouldn't it be for that?

SPEAKER_00

No, but it's already paid, so they're not making as much. So it's kind of like this you're charging the our consumer more, so now we're charging you more, so you're not making because our cars constantly will get declined at plums. Uh and we have to call them to say, hey, we need funds. And they're like, Did you go over? And I'm like, Yeah, 20 20 tenths of a pound. Like, and they're like, Well, there's a discrepancy. I'm like, Yeah, because you say this bread costs $7.99, they're charging you $9.99.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, that's that's that is awesome. Yeah, okay, interesting. Yeah, you wouldn't have to do it on you. You could I I bet they don't do it on everything, it's probably certain items. They're trying to probably slip one past the goalie, you know what I mean? To not to raise too many red flags, but I mean, I don't blame them.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's hilarious. I I crack up every time because I'm like fuck them. They they they found a way, they found a way to stick it to them.

SPEAKER_01

Again, I I I think a a small increase is fine to cover some of the cost, but not like like you said, if the bread's $7.99, and Instagart's gonna charge $9.99, like two dollars for one item. Like, what about 10%? Like it's 10% more on everything instead of you know, so it's 79 cents more for the bread. Um, because $7.99.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's like it's like total wine, they charge if it's ten dollars or less, it's not much of a markup, it's like less than a dollar. But there are some items where you know it's fifty dollars for that bottle and they charge the customer like $55.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I mean, is that too much for you? Is five bucks?

SPEAKER_00

Well, it that's it's that's a big markup.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, but if they're only buying one bottle, it's not that big of a deal.

SPEAKER_00

But if you're buying all your groceries and it's two dollars more per item, you know well they I guess like look at it this way, like there's some total wines, like I've taken pictures and sent, you know, in in the group where it like the whole cart is full.

SPEAKER_01

God damn, you know, yeah. I mean, yeah, if they're if you're dipping five bucks each bottle, yeah. I don't know. I don't know what the right answer is. Um, like I said, I understand them taking a little bit, but you know, they're being a little too greedy about it. So well, I hope this comes around for I mean, I know you say you haven't done Dorothy. I mean, you've been it's so funny you ebb and flow on what

Uber Quests And Bonus Math

SPEAKER_01

you do because like you used to be the Costco Instacart whore, and now you're the now rideshare whore. It's just funny.

SPEAKER_00

Bonuses, yeah, keep sending them in it's so like you see these places, right? These markets where they're like five dollars, ten dollars. So, like, oh, you're gonna do 50 rides for an extra 10 bucks. Like, no, I'm not gonna concentrate on that, but like you know, 400 to 500 right now and it's slow season that I'm getting extra a week. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna look at mine, I think it said 150 for me for the weekend. Oh wait, yeah, or 115, sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Or what 50 or 60?

SPEAKER_01

60 rides, 115. And then if you do a net 10 more, you get 50 bucks. Or vice versa. And this is rides and eats. If you do 50, uh, you get 70. Or and then additional 20 gets you 95. So it's interesting how they like like if you if you're gonna do 50, you might as well do 60, right? It's 10 more, and you're gonna, you know. I I I wouldn't when I did these these quests, I I never got the second tier. I always just hit the first one, I'm like, fuck it, I'm done.

SPEAKER_00

Um if it's a good two-tier Monday through Thursday, I'll do both.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, I those are not.

SPEAKER_00

If it's the weekend, I'll do 60 at most. Sometimes I've done 70.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

But it has to be really worth it.

SPEAKER_02

That's so much. So let's see.

SPEAKER_00

If I do 10, I get seven. It's because you didn't do that 120. So they're likely.

SPEAKER_01

So that's only a dollar ninety-one extra a ride. That one fifteen for 60 rides.

SPEAKER_00

I I guess if if you are a driver, right, and that's all you do is let's say Uber. You pick one, because now they don't auto-select one for you. Correct. You have to pick one.

SPEAKER_02

Correct.

SPEAKER_00

So like you're getting extra money. Um, if that's all you do is rise and you're busy enough to stay steady, then it's it's a bonus.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, if you're gonna do it anyways, you know.

SPEAKER_00

But if you're a multi-apper, it's you kind of have to outweigh, like, okay, is it worth it?

SPEAKER_01

I don't think it is, not for a dollar ninety-one if you're multi-apper. Plus, this one is rides and eats, so you can do both, although you can flip rides a lot quicker than you can flip eats.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, I guess it depends on the market.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Too, and like traffic.

SPEAKER_01

For sure.

SPEAKER_00

Um, because I've done there's one night where I did five or six rides in an hour because they were short and it was just like around campus when school's going on, but then there's times where I've done five Uber Eats because I had a triple and a double, and it was it went very quickly.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So I guess it just depends.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you're kind of I guess you have more control over the rides than you do on the Eats, how long it's gonna take because you're dependent on someone else making the food, at least with their rides. You can pick it, you can be like, okay, that's gonna be short, that's gonna be short. If I take a little long one, I've chosen to do that, but like with the food, you just never know how long the food's gonna take.

SPEAKER_00

So unless, unless you like know the restaurants and you're like, oh no, they suck, they're always slow.

SPEAKER_01

They're slow on a Tuesday at two o'clock, they're gonna be real slow on Friday night.

SPEAKER_00

So, yeah, like I'm not I'm not doing it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, for sure. All right, uh, I'm gonna jump into

Waymo Construction Mistakes In The Wild

SPEAKER_01

Waymo. Waymo in the news. All right, 17-second video. This Waymo decided uh to drive in some construction, and uh I actually had to look for this one. There's a lot on TikTok. I mean, normally they just show up for me like on my feed, and I didn't have any. So if you want some entertainment, fucking go on TikTok and just search Waymo. So uh we will watch this real quick. Waymo entering construction job site is crazy. So it happens real quick, but basically everything in the like what far right two lanes is closed off with cones and everything, and it just goes around this construction vehicle and just now it's all nice and paved. I don't know if they're in the process of blocking it off or whatever, and just shoots shoots down the barrel, down the lanes, down the construction, and and uh off in the distance. So, yeah, there was a couple of just videos I saw, like some of them we had seen before, but my god, if if you want 50 if you got to burn 15 minutes of your day, go on TikTok or Instagram or whatever, they're all the fucking same, and just search Waymo, and it's not great out there, folks. Uh, we only scratch the service with our Waymo dumb shit. So shit is happening out there. Um, all right, so you do so many rides, and I I'm just I can't believe this stuff hasn't um shown up for you.

OnlyFans Requests And Rider Oversharing

SPEAKER_01

Uh this guy uh wanted to record a porno basically. Uh said, sorry, cat, I had to cancel the ride because the store is closed. No, I now this is from the customer, right? Right? Because they were gonna where they wanted a ride to the store. Okay. But it's oh is it okay if I do a scene in your car for my OnlyFans account? I can pay you extra. If not, I can just cancel it, no problem. What do you mean a scene? I just had to record myself stroking my BBC while in the car. Wait, I think I read the customer. Wait, I think I read that right. Are you asking to beat off in my car? Uh he says, yeah, yes. He goes, Okay, sorry, I'm not comfortable with that. Okay, would then he just he amps it up? Okay, would you by any chance want your booty ate? If he wasn't comfortable with you getting watching him do whatever, he's not gonna be comfortable. That's gross. Anyone that eats ass has got a fucking severe problem. I don't care if you're my friend and uh you do that, I don't unfriend me. I don't fucking care because that's fucking nasty.

SPEAKER_00

So I I've never had anything like that. I think the mo the most well, I had that one I I think I shared it was a while ago, last year maybe, where that guy was like, please get here because it was like a booty call that went wrong, and he was like, please get this chick out of my house. Can you be here ASAP?

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Or I got one that said, Please wait a few minutes. I'm stuck on the toilet, I'll be out as soon as possible. And I was just like, Wait, why you gotta share all that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I remember that one. Wasn't there? Oh, we talked about one. Uh you the toilet triggered my memory about some lady, like she said she fell in a bush or something. Did we talk about on the show, or did it actually happen to one of them?

SPEAKER_00

I think it was a while ago. You I think you got one, or it was uh it was an article you had that somebody shared.

SPEAKER_01

It was something, but yeah, someone said, Yeah, I fell in a bush. Um, look for me or something like that. Yeah, I can't believe you haven't gotten anything. Well, no, you're driving during the day now, so that is way less likely. I mean, you've done your time.

SPEAKER_00

I did have one when I was in Grand Rapids when I drove night. And it wasn't a text. He got in the car. It took him a moment because I was like, Where is he? He got in the car and he was like, Sorry, I was totally making out with this chick.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, that's pretty normal.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, and then he goes, and then she let me finger bang her for a moment, and then he goes, Oh, yeah, yeah, my fingers smell like curtain. Yeah, remember I told you, and he goes, Do you want to smell my fingers? And I was like, No, bro. And like after he got out, I like sanitized everything in the backseat that he touched, but I was just like, I get being intoxicated, and sometimes you say shit, but like I would never say that.

SPEAKER_01

I've been so drunk, and I would never say that to a human being. Like, and then to be like, Do you want to sm like no Gabe wouldn't even say that on Jello Shot in Nashville night? Like, he he would never say that. Like, that's so gross. I think some guys, and this is so gross, uh, take that as a badge of honor. Like, I bet he talks, I bet that's normal for him. I bet he talks to his friends like that. Yeah, I finger banged Janet last night. You want to smell? Like, I bet he would say that to one of his friends.

SPEAKER_00

I don't even think alcohol either because it was the first time I found out what Bumble was, because he was like, I met her on Bumble and I was like, What's that? And he was like, It's like Tinder, but for classier hoes. And I was just like, What?

SPEAKER_01

This this new dating scene, I don't understand. I could never do that. I don't think I could just hook up with somebody that I didn't know. I'm sorry, and like no judgment if you have. I just I mean, maybe I would. I don't know. I've it's been so long. Now I'm now I'm backing my steps up. Like, maybe I would if I was lonely enough.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I feel like I feel like people in general have lost some tech.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And they just say stuff, and I think because they think they're never going to see you again, right? It's okay, they can say and do whatever they want.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But news for you, bitch, I'm not drunk, and your driver probably has a camera, right? And you're gonna be the laughing joke of all of his friends, like all his friends.

SPEAKER_01

That is one thing. I I do want to, if you know, I still have my dash cam. I do, I will post. I mean, I'll blur everything out, but like I'm I'm waiting for because I want to try to drive on the amphitheater night. So I'm gonna be driving more this summer for sure. Um, just because it's gonna be it's you know, it's kind of a scene down there now, a vibe. But uh, I do want to get a Door Dash, Door Dash. I do want to get a dash cam of somebody acting a fool, but not that. Although I'd post that, I would rip that guy. I'd be like, Can you believe this guy said this to me and held his fingers up and said, Do you want to smell it? Like, and I would hide his identity. I'm not gonna cook his life, that's not fair. But I will I would unless somebody can figure you out via audio, then that's on you.

SPEAKER_00

But it'd be like, dude, does that look like your shirt and your sound like your voice?

SPEAKER_01

Oh god, yeah, that's true. That's a good point. I would have to blur the like if he's wearing a graphic tee or something. Oh god.

SPEAKER_00

Oh gosh. Well, anyways, but that'd be karma. Yeah, that'd be karma though.

SPEAKER_01

You're bitch, you shouldn't do

Weekend Plans And Final Rules

SPEAKER_01

that. All right, we're gonna wrap it up. Uh, Patreon in uh seven minutes, I can do math. Um, I would appreciate if you stop on by. And then I always ask Larry, any gig work this weekend? But fuck, I know you're gonna be gigging and shit. It's eight o'clock. In ten hours, you're gonna be well, maybe not. That'll be 6.03. You're not gonna be out at 6.03 a.m. You'll be out by 7 though.

SPEAKER_00

7, 7:30.

SPEAKER_01

Depending on the morning. Depends. Depends. So I will not be out doing gig work this weekend because I explained it in pre-ramble. Daughter's uh open house on Sunday. Just got a lot of shit to do, white caps this weekend. So, no gig work for me at all. This is my first week of summer break. Uh, I have not done any gig work, kind of just laying low for the first week, but I'll be back at it next week for sure. So, as always, don't put up with anyone's bullshit. Don't be a dick. And we'll see you on the road. Peace out.
